I'm considering buying one, but I've heard they can't be pretty difficult to use. Does anyone have experience with them, and if so can you tell me if their kid (10 and 12) friendly?

I had one. Mine was fixed to a slight incline. I got rid of it before getting my gym membership. I was too frustrated with lack of control. As for being kid-friendly, mine never went near it...sorry!
