Short-term stiffness

I have been loosing weight since Nov/Dec 2016, and am down 70 odd lbs. In April I joined the gym, I love it, and in September did a walking Marathon, and my fitness levels have increased exponentially. I go to the gym most days, alternating heavy and light days. I do cardio each day ( less on light days) and weights on the heavy days.

I am very happy about my progress, but there is one thing I am hoping I may get some advice on. For the last few months, on a consistent basis, I get very stiff muscles after sitting down for any period of time. When I get up it is uncomfortable for a while, I think I must look like I am walking like a very old woman!! As I get walking it eases, and after a few mins it disappears. This happens after I have been sitting for more than about 90 mins, and as I have a sedentary job it happens regularly. Does anyone have any advice?

No advice, but my muscles feel the same, so I try not to sit down for long periods of time, hard if you have a desk job, but take a break every hour, even a 5 min stroll should help.

It's a bit of a relief to know I am not the only one, although I'd not wish it on anyone. However, if I am stuck with it, then it's worth it to be healthy, and at least it's goes quite quickly :)

Get up and move every 60 minutes. I think this is not new for you, it's just more noticeable now that you're more active. Congrats!
