TOM question

Ok, so TOM came to visit me last Thursday and the week before that the scale didn't budge. Now, I weighed myself yesterday, just for the heck of it and was expecting it to show a gain from the water and cravings and I actually show a loss of 3.2 lbs!!! I thought I was losing it, so I weighed again this morining and I show another loss of 1.4 lbs!! Trust me, I'm not complaining, but I thought most people held water and gained during TOM. I am really afraid that after TOM leaves, I will show a gain of it all back. Any advice or anyone else have this happen? Thanks!!!

happens to me every month. When i see a quick drop I now for sure TOM is coming. Ususally it takes about 3 days after TOM leaves for the scale to move back to the correct position. Sometime I am able to keep one of the punds off, other times I am not.0

The gain during TOM is because of water retention so most females here won't weigh the week before/of and will wait until the week after TOM leaves to weigh in because your body will have released all that water it was holding on to (the more bloated you feel, the more water your body retained). Also, if you had excess sodium, it causes water retention so keeping your sodium lower and drinking plenty of water, your body will release additional water. Hopefully that helps!0

For me, my patter is very clear. I usually "gain weight" which may translate in no weight loss or plain weight gain (about 1 lbs) the week before then after TOM, it's all gone as all the water retained in my body got flushed. So I pay attention to this so I don't panic and keep motivated and I know it's all going to go back to normal after.0
