I've developed a recent obsession with seaweed salad - the lovely, crunchy kind you get at the sushi restaurants. I live in a small town and I only get to enjoy this if I travel to another city about 30 miles away. I decided to try and make it myself if I could find the ingredients.
I had other errands in the big today town, so I stopped at an Asian grocery. The very sweet elderly gentleman there hooked me up with a bag of dried seaweed, but I don't think it's the right kind. It says "Dried Kelp Sliced". It's very thinly sliced and gray color. When I look it up online I mostly find recipes for soup. Has anyone used this for a seaweed salad?
Since I had to spend $10 to use my debit card I also got a large daikon radish and some lemon grass. Not quite sure what to do with those either, but I'm open to any suggestions!
Thanks!
