Hi I have lost 30lbs and try and drink water I do slack but I find when I drink more I get an awful headache which is strange as it should be the opposite ?
I sip a pint an hour 5-6 a day when I drink this amount I feel sick and get a headache.

My urine is pale yellow and I'm never thirsty which I know we shouldn't be. I do 1 hours walking a day as injured my calf muscle and eat 1209 calsoores and I've 30lbs to goal.
I'm 48 female and weigh 190lbs

Don't really want to to see a doctor as even I think it sounds silly.

Anyone know what this could be ?
Thanks

if you're drinking a lot more water than you need AND eating a low sodium diet that could be contributing. You probably don't need as much as you're drinking, you get a lot of fluids from food and stuff. I might say different if you did a lot of vigorous exercise.

Yeah, that seems really reasonable - green tea is basically flavored water. Here's a favorite source of mine on water: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/water/art-20044256. Apparently most people get about 20% their daily water needs from food, so if you're also drinking green tea, you really don't need that much more water on top of that. I know some people can really put it away, but that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong.

You are drinking more than 2 litres of water a day, plus tea and other beverages...that's a lot. A pint of water an hour is quite a bit of water.

Yes, you need to drink water for weight loss. But more isn't better. There is a point of diminishing returns. I think you may be over hydrated. Unless you live somewhere where it is really hot and you work out outside, or work outside in that heat.

Once your body is totally hydrated all you are doing is creating urine, and flushing out all those electrolytes.

I'm 120 pounds and I aim for 60 ounces of liquid per day.

So, at your weight, 95 ounces is a decent starting point, which is around 6 pints of fluid. This includes pretty much everything, though I find drinks with sugar (regular soda, Starbucks lattes and the like) don't help to hydrate as much. On days when I have those, I try to get in an extra glass of water.

I agree that you are likely overhydrating - scale back a bit and see if you feel better :)
