What is a good/elite outdoor walking speed?

Hey,
I can't run well at the moment due to injuries, but I can walk and I try to lose weight by walking. I go for 1 hour walks as fast as I can.
Today I walked 6,7 km in 1 hour. I have a goal of walking 7 km pr. hour.
Is that a reasonable goal? I weigh 105kg and is 185cm tall.

Elite? Ok, I'll bite. Fastest known time on the PCT is 53 days. That's 2,660 miles and 421,000 feet of vert. 50 miles per day.5

7 km is about 4.3 miles? That's definitely doable. I'm in no way "elite" but I am a speed walker and I can do 4.5 miles in an hour but generally when I walk I go for 7 miles which takes me about 80-85 minutes.0

On flat level ground about 4mph/ 15 min mile is a bit faster than average.
Sustaining that becomes the challenge, particularly on uneven terrain.5 -
A good speed is faster than you did last week.
What speed do Olympic Walkers walk at?
Curt Clausen holds the US record for men in the 50km Race Walk at 3:48:04, for an average of 7 minutes 22 seconds per mile or 8.1 miles per hour for 31 miles.1 -
4 mph is what I'd call 'walking with purpose'.0

4-5 mph is strong recreational fast/speed walking. Anything beyond that gets into technique and begins to look/feel much more like running.1

LOL!
Guess I'm not an "elite" walker but I knew that already anyway.
I walk and hike everywhere at a very slow but constant rate of 2.5 miles/hr (based on my pedometer app). That's 24 mins/mile.
Won't win any races but I never get tired and can easily hike 6-8 miles in very steep terrain at this rate w/o stopping.
That's good enough for me.4 -
Yes and far from elite. 4.3mph used to be my average pace for my daily morning walk but now I'm averaging around 4mph. Did this last year and the lunch break was approximately midway into the 10.5 mile walk home from work (allergies and went home early). In my Army day, I would be carrying 60#+ and walking over 5 hours at that pace.

Really, its not about what is considered good, its about what is better than yesterday. A "good" 5k time is 20 minutes, an elite time is 13. Does it matter if I have gone from 40-27 that its not "elite"?2
