So the past few weeks, my wee one has been going through the 8 month sleep regression. Momma has gotten maybe three hours a night for three weeks. I worked out and got through it, albeit not gracefully.
Over the weekend he just reset to normal like nothing happened and from friday-today ive gotten 6 blissfull uninterrupted hours a night.
But i've lost my mojo. I cant be super crazy intense early in the morning because my "old people knees" need some time to lubricate before i jump or squat a bunch. Kiddo is at that age where i figure out his schedule and then BAM he decides we're cutting out a nap. I had been working out in the morning and during his lunch nap, but now he wakes up two hours earlier, naps when he had been waking (the time i feed livestock), and missing the lunch nap. Arrrgh.
It sounds like a bunch of crap excuses to me, buti just cant get my head right. I wanted to start running in the evenings but havent yet, i wanted to cut caffiene and havent.
Spam me with inspiration! Help me pull my head out of my *kitten*!

I guess it's like anything else. You have to make yourself do it even if you don't want to, because you know it's good for you.
That's really what has worked for me. I have had to say "Ok let's just do it" and do it.. even when I'd rather just go to bed.1 -
It can be frustrating when you get used to a routine and it suddenly and constantly changes, but that's how it is with kids. As they grow, each stage of life presents a different schedule and daily time line (school, summer vacation, homework, activities, etc). Now that you know that you can be prepared to adapt accordingly.
Look at it this way: it's good to shake up your routine regularly. It keeps you from getting in a rut and being complacent. Now that my kids are grown and I can regulate my schedule I still change it up from time to time because I think it's a good thing to do.1 -
Sad to say, but it won't get any easier as they get older. Soon it will be school activities, events to attend, homework to help with, etc.. I've learned to really have no set plans as to when I'll workout as it changes every day/week. Get it in when you have time and keep your calories within range.0
