10/17/2017 ACCOUNTABILITY
I have not written for a while so time to keep this blog/story going. In September 2017 on the 23rd, I purchased a Fitbit flex 2. It is fantastic when used in combination with MyFitnessPal. As long as I am 100% honest about what goes into my mouth each day, hold myself accountable, it tells me what I actually took in for calories. The fit bit calculates my steps and calories burned each day. For every 3500 deficit (burned over taken in (eaten), I should lose a pound by all prior research.
I am finding this to be very close to true. At this time 10/17/2017 I am down 11 pounds. Now this is not my lowest weight since 2010, I still need to lose about 12 more pounds to get below that again.
I feel great that I did not let it get too out of control. I was on steroids this past summer and the Doctor said would cause me to gain weight. I think I used that as an excuse to not be as consistent, and the result was I did gain weight. I further traveled a lot this summer so out of sync on exercise and eating for a few months overall. This as well is something we do use as an excuse, but it is not an excuse, it is simply life. Another issue can be stress and depression. Eating or I should say over eating does not help these items but increases the stress and depression as we are mad at ourselves normally for eating out of control.
What I learned is nothing is an excuse in anyway. It is all parts of this life we live. What I found for me is I have to be accountable for myself, and if I am I do succeed. Making excuses allows me to gain weight very easily.
Another excuse I feel is the old “plateau” one. Now, not saying we do not hit stalls, but it is because we are letting our body get accustomed to what we are doing, and it reacts. We need to change things up a bit. From our exercise to the times of day we eat. We are in control if we want to be. We have the knowledge, the tools and know it is very true if we burn more calories than we take in we will lose. If we move, we will lose. If we do nothing, we will gain.
Every one of us knows what to do and when we are making excuses. We need to take ownership for ourselves and what we want. If we do not want it enough, we will simply keep gaining and going on the way we always have.
In conclusion: Everything we do good or bad has a consequence. It depends on what consequence you want to deal with. If you never buy the junk food and bring it into the house, you cannot eat it. If you do not dish it up or go back for seconds you will not go overboard. We all know exactly what our intention is when we buy those chips, donuts, cakes, ice cream ect. It is not for others it is for us.
ACCOUNTABILTY will give you SUCCESS every time. There is no surprise when we step on that scale if we truly track every morsel we CHOOSE to eat, and every exercise we choose not to do. It is really that simple overall. Yes, there are health issues that sometimes hinder us, but they do not stop us, we stop ourselves.

Good Luck Wrenranae— since you’re 58 realize that your metabolism isn’t your friend right now & it never will be again. But you have a goal and a plan ....so you will accomplish your goals.
Oh one more thing, imho — you’re brave to share!0
