Water weight, poop, pee, scale inaccuracies. Nothing to worry about, just keep monitoring and follow your weight loss trends over weeks and months, not days.

1 pound of fat gain would be 3,500 calories over your maintenance. 3 pounds would be 10,500 calories over. Unless you seriously overate for the last 3 days.....it's water or waste. Could be scale inaccuracies too.

Unless you ate 10,500 over maintenance, it isn’t fat

Oh there is a reason but you just don't know what it is yet. Sodium is the most likely reason but it may be a combination of many. If you are eating at a deficit for the most part don't sweat the one day gains. Focus on the overall trend. The opposite of this is thinking you haven't really stuck to your plan and boom you lose three pounds in a day. I prefer a logging wi fi scale that graphs my weight so I can pull up a week, month or year and see what's going on.

Didn't you ask this last time you had a few drinks and pizza? It's still just water retention unless you've had a super mad pizza binge of thousands of calories above maintenance.
