Tired need more energy

I have started to diet about 1 1/2 weeks or so ago. I'm doing excellent with the diet part but I am always tired! I was always tired even before I started to diet. I have totally changed my diet from eating crappy to eating awesome. I eat lots of fruit and veggies and lean meat/fish. I eat a small amount of carbs and am only drinking milk, water and unsweetened ice tea. I eat about 1500 calories a day and am satisfied and not hungry. But is their a natural vitamin or supplement I can take to help boost my energy? I think once I loose some weight I will get more energy but right now I feel the need to want to sleep 12hrs or so. I have talked to my doctor and had blood work ect. done and nothings out of balance or anything. I am on birth control and a anti-depressant/anxiety pill which could contribute to the tired part.

Can you open your diary. Caffeine is a good choice to help give you a boost, or anything with vitamin B. Also, what is per week loss goal set at? While 1500 isn't bad, it's possible you may want to add a few more calories. Sometimes too high of a deficit can cause tiredness.

If you really are that tired then your anti depressant probably needs to be adjusted. Call your doc and see what they can do. Also if you aren't seeing a Psychiatrist specializing in med management for your depression and anxiety I would strongly encourage you to find one. I worked for a med management Psychiatrist and your story is very common. Patients would come in feeling tired and run down and they were on meds prescribed by their GP and our Doc would adjust meds, sometimes it would take a couple of tweaks but they were always feeling better fairly quickly.

It may be worth getting blood work done at your doctors just to make sure you are not deficient in anything and wouldnt hurt to discuss with your doctor re: your diet and how you are feeling.

We take sublingual b12, fish oil capsules, magnesium and vit d. Also a probiotic. And lots of veggies and fruit.
Maybe it's the antidepressant and you would probably get more energy with some exercise like walking.

i'm the same, regardless of what weight i'm at.... my iron is low, but i'm not anemic. my doctor has run all kinds of blood work and other than my iron being slightly low, he doesn't see any other reason for my tiredness. I ask about chronic fatigue and he sort of pish poshes it... but i think it's a real thing. It is possible for people to be tired all the time, even when they are doing everything 'right'. No amount of iron, coffee, soda, candy, sugar makes me feel awake.

maybe take a look at that and see if you have any of the symptoms... i sure do.
