Tuna question...?

I've been limiting my tuna consumption (canned chunk light in water) to twice a week. Whole can. Thoughts? Would canned salmon be healthier?

Variety is best. Eat what you like.

Do you like tuna? Does it fit your calories and other goals? Do you have a reason for not eating it? If you like it and it fits your goals and there's not another reason for not eating it then go for it. If you don't like it, it doesn't fit your goals or you have some other reason for not eating it then eat something else.

Are you worried about mercury consumption? Then I think twice a week is fine and limit is 6 cans per week.

If you're worried about mercury, I think a couple times per week is fine...I get line caught canned tuna which is lower mercury...I also use canned Alaskan Sockeye Salmon which is very safe as far as mercury is concerned.

I keep a pic on my phone of the low mercury seafood chart and then I go to town. I am pescetarian so I only eat seafood. I have had my mercury tested just to be sure and it was fine. Just stick to the low end, salmon, cod, shrimp, mussels, oysters, skipjack tuna, crabs etc.

I like salmon too, actually better but found it more dense calorie wise so I stick with tuna. Never more than twice a week regardless cause I dont like it that much anyway.

Thank you! It was a question regarding the mercury. Should have put that...
