Preparing for an hip operation

I was diagnosed with advanced osteo arthritis especially in my hips. The surgeon would do the operation but said that at a BMI of 37 I would not have a great time when recovering so we decided that I should try to lose a bit of weight. You know what its like... i didnt fancy going to a club and be embarressed each week or to be told I had lost half a pound. So I looked at my trusty phone for an answer. I found my fitness pal. So easy to use and so many foods in the data base that the foods I thought I would set up were already there.
Anyway off I set. I couldnt do many different exercises due to the poor rotation of my hips but settled on swimming and bought an air walker.
After losing 12lb in the first 3 weeks I was hooked.
I think I now have about a 470 day streak and an 5 stones lighter.
I have had one hip replaced as my BMI is now 26. And am not looking back right now! Thank you my fitness pal you have worked for me thats for sure. Even through the days I was low on willpower I could feel you there pushing me on.

Congrats on the weight loss, but even more so on getting your mobility back.

You look wonderful and happy. ( love the new haircut and colour too)

    Cheers, h.
