That seems a bit ambitious. .5-1 lb of loss from October to January...you're talking 11-12 lbs max. Not that it's necessarily totally undoable...but if you're aiming for healthy, sustainable loss, reigning in expectations and looking at the big picture overall could prevent any disappointments in the future.

At the end of my first 3 months, I lost 14 lbs and that was a bit more than I expected! Stay diligent and you will make great progress!
