I remember reading about a woman who won a Darwin Award for attempting to consume her carbon from the air. Pretty hilarious stuff.....

By the way, I have a PhD in biology from a REAL university, not America Online.

This stuff is bollocks. (I'm not British, I just like to pretend)

Um, humans evolved the way we did because of a high protien diet aiding higher brain development thus better intelligence functions and that wasn't from going vegan........I'm trying to respect your spiritual views but that bit made me sad.

    Bad science is sad.

    Word.

I've heard that sunshine sammich's are very low in calories.

Hmmm...could you make the argument that a nice thick slice of sunshine is clean eating ??

  • This is nonsense. While I respect nature and all of that.....I am not going to live off of the sun.
ETA: or rely on it to heal my ailments.

    And Bacon. I like bacon.

QFT. Actually, considering how heatstroke, sunstroke, dehydration, and the overall ickiness of tropical heat (in my personal experience) I would say the sun discourages us living off it straight, without some side dishes like sunblock, shade, and ventilation.

    I also like bacon.

ah, bless, the desire to believe. I suppose this is no more or less ridiculous than the earth being a one week project, or pink unicorns repairing my freezer if I wear olive green knickers.

    1) What do you do if it's cloudy?

    2) You're really going to need that third eye, because your other two are going to have some pretty severe retinal damage from staring directly into the sun for 45 minutes a day, "sunrise/sunset" or not.

I try REALLY hard to respect people's religious and spiritual beliefs. I really, really do. BUT, when someone's beliefs include condoning behavior that is physically harmful towards themself (or someone else), such as not eating for a year and staring directly into the sun, it's really difficult for me to do that.
  • Damn people why do you have to be so miserable? I think 99% of you didn't even read the full post, did not do any research before commenting. Someone who has phd in biology doesn't know that for example the vitamin D in human body comes 90% from sunlight? And all this negativity, bless the desire to believe? When you experience it - you know, you don't have to believe - you know.

And you made it pro or anti vegetarian talk when that was not even the topic of conversation. READ before you say anything. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STOP EATING. You don't have to change your diet, you will naturally feel less hungry and have a desire to eat less because of the Sungazing. There are NO dangers or negative side effects if you do it right.

You're aware that Hira Ratan Manek has been outed as a hoaxer right? As have all of the others ever studied while doing this.

Staring into the sun will help remove visually-stimulated eating desires. No longer will you think "damn, that looks good!"

Phase 2 of this diet is cayenne huffing so as not to be tempted by smell or taste.
