Can I ask the members opinion on this please? Also known as Glucomannan. I have bought some capsules but haven't opened the container yet.

Who loves ya, baby?
I only know about the noodles. I don't know anything about capsules, I suppose they're a fiber supplement?3 -

It's supposed to swell in your stomach and make you fell fuller.0

So you never need to learn portion control? Or how to deal with “mock” hunger?

@GottaBurnEmAll What the... You don't look nearly old enough to remember Kojak.
I'm 55.1 -

That sounds like it would cause distress coming out.
The konjac noodles are okay if you find a brand you like a rinse them and dry fry them. They are filling and good used in stir fries.

LOL. Thanks. I need to change to a face picture. Weight loss has not been as kind there. I used to look younger than my age, now I look it.2 -

*raises hand* That's what came to mind as soon as I saw the thread title, too...
Are those noodles the ones that are slimy and gross and smell of fish until rinsed and dried? The descriptions I've seen of them have put me off trying them, but some people do say they're very filling and very low calorie and are good with something flavourful.0 -

Sounds fine but I’m sure someone will say that “natural” fibre might be better. Bran, fibrous fruit and veg etc. That way you get cals and macros along with your fibre.

The trick is finding a brand that's not too fishy smelling, imo. I like the Better Than Noodles brand that has gluten free oat fiber in them. I don't find them to be overly smelly at all compared to the other brands I've tried. They are indeed very filling and perfectly fine once rinsed and dry fried.
They are super low calorie and a good vehicle for vegetables, protein, and sauces. I think they work best in Asian style dishes.0 -
They are capsules. Two with plenty of water three times per day before meals.1

Well, it's a harmless fiber.
I don't know if it will expand in your stomach.
Konjac is from a root and is perfectly safe, so it won't hurt. I just don't know if it will work.
I'd rather eat the noodles!0 -

Do you plan on taking the pills for the rest of your life? What happens after you hit your goal and can no longer control your hunger in that manner?
Perhaps now is the time to learn how to do it properly?1 -

No, it was my first thought, before even opening the thread.

Konjac powder capsules (not Kojac) have no magical weight loss properties, nor will they fill you up. If it were so, none of us here would need mfp. Some people use konjac noodles because they have almost no calories. Unfortunately, they also have almost no taste.
A little coconut aminos (or soy sauce, which I can't eat) fixes that right up.
I've eaten them with some chopped scallions as a very low calorie snack all by themselves because they're so filling. Just dry fried, with the coconut aminos and some snipped scallions. About 40 calories.1 -

This.
Konjac
I'd rather eat the noodles too.
And I wouldn't bet that they'd do much to make you feel "full".
You might try playing around with your macros, see what helps with satiety.0 -

I *kitten*' love the noodles. ~ A~ So much, especially as a peanut satay stir fry. Any and all of the different types of noodles (with or without tofu, even as just straight up konjac blocks).
I say learn how to eat properly rather than doing something like that. Find lower calorie dupes for things so you are able to increase portion sizes at same (or lower) calories, etc.0 -

OK, I will stick to calorie tracking, it's worked well so far. I will bin the Konjac....................
Thanks for your posts and good-bye from this thread.

Me too. The '91' in my user name is most definitely not my birth year.1 -
I used them and they worked. I felt fuller and ate less, and when I stopped taking them after a few months when results tapered off, I was able to still maintain eating less. Take a good probiotic too, it works well with fiber. You could look into digestive enzymes too.0

Yup yup yup. Now I want a sucker/pop!
Eating fibrous foods is more filling than taking fiber pills, OP. Any fibrous foods (like high-volume low-cal veggies) can have that effect, for someone who's satiated at least partly by volume. (Some people are satiated by fats or protein or specific foods instead.)
(. . . wanders off to kitchen to find the Tootsie caramel green apple suckers that are out there somewhere . . .)0 -
