I am currently on medication that increases my appetite
Since this I have put on over a stone and at only 5ft. This is quite a lot for me.
Help and advice much appreciated!

You’ve already identified the thing that will help you most - the medication increases your appetite, not makes you gain weight.
The difficult part is carrying that thought on. If you want to lose weight and stop gaining you need to resist the temptation to eat more than you burn.
I’m on migraine medication that is notorious for increasing appetite but I’ve lost 110lbs. It’s very manageable.
Set a slow but sustainable target for calories, measure (weighing solids) everything and use MFP religiously.
Don’t be tempted to set MFP to lose 2lbs a week. That’s too much for a 14lb goal. Try 0.5lbs a week.
Don’t freak out over small gains; look at the overall trend. Adjust every 4 weeks or so to take account of the trend.
Consider exercise to increase your calories out. It’s not vital to the process but can help give you a bigger deficit and a chance to eat more goodies.1 -
I’m on medication for depression which in itself makes me feel lazy and unmotivated. Just feel like it’s against me at the moment0

You don’t need to exercise to lose weight, you just need to eat less then you burn. You control this process, not the drugs! You can do this!0 -

I totally feel you! Is your depression under control right now? It sounds like maybe this medication is new, and you and your doctors haven't totally figured it out yet. It can be a long frustrating process, but I'm glad you're focused on your mental health. If it's not completely sorted out, that's OK and it means you need to cut yourself some slack. If you have energy to focus on your weight, great! If not, the most important thing is to stay on your meds and work with your doctor.
You don't need to exercise to lose weight. Try making small changes. Try drinking a glass of water instead of going for a snack. If you're still hungry in half an hour then eat 1 serving of a snack. Try not to buy things that you know you can't eat in reasonable portions. If you can log all your food accurately on MFP, that would be ideal.
Best of luck.0 -

Speak to your doctor about the side effects you are experiencing. There may be adjustments that need made or an alternative medication you can try.0 -
One thing that has helped me was to do things that made me feel fuller. Soups were a good one, where I could get that feeling of fullness but not get so many calories. It helped me to eat my soup at the end of the day, where i was more likely to be feeling like giving in and eating more.
