I'm ssssoooo happy this challenge has returned for this week, here's to hoping I follow through with it a little better! :drinker:

I'm optimistic that once I track these things consistently for a few weeks (I plan on doing it after it ends here for the week) it will become another habit and I won't have to make such a conscious effort to stay on point with it! Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!

I am full of excuses and I know it. Feel free to call my lazy @ss on all the BS I'm about to type.

I had a work related meeting today (8am-9pm). I was told there would be healthy food choices. Instead of packing any food for what I knew would be a long day I crossed my fingers and trusted that the food would be taken care of. Healthy food options meant that fruit was provided along with the cookies, candy, Pizza Hut for lunch, and Claim Jumpers for dinner. By noon I knew I was in trouble and spent time looking at every food item on the Claim Jumpers website to try to find something decent. So we got there and I had something delicious instead, plus a ton of appetizers and a few bites of someone's cheesecake. I could have worked out this morning... I could work out now.... Yeah, I'm going to bed. I gave up logging the rest of the garbage I ate tonight because it's one bite of this, one bite of that. I ate OVER MAINTENENCE today with what I've logged already. I'm lame.

Well, I will get back on track tomorrow. It was a two day meeting so today also went pretty bad. Not as bad, I actually had a 400 calorie deficit today. It will feel so good to have 100% control of all my food options tomorrow. And I won't be away from home for 13+ hours so there should be plenty of time to exercise.

I'm actually proud of myself today. There were bowls of fun size candy bars on all the tables. I had one bite size snickers and one pecan sandie all day. I also packed bags of veggies for snacks. I would watch others eat 5 snickers in a row and repeat every other hour. If it wasn't the candies, it was cookies, every once in a while the fan would blow the chocolate smell my way. It was rough.

That is ROUGH! I have found that I'm better off not even having just one, I haven't mastered self control. I'm better at abstinence.

Good job bringing veggies though and controling yourself!

We went out for Chinese last night and I'm confident in saying that I went WAY over my sodium! I didn't log everything, and really didn't even go over board but we all know how high in sodium Chinese is. Back on track for today though! Love the quote today rostrum!

  • PSBs I blew it two 3,000+ calorie days in a row! (with no exercise) I know the only thing to do is to get back on track, but wow what a set back!

Why would I do this? Just keep eating and eating? I know better . . . this is the hardest part - trying to control behavior that doesn't make any sense!

What helps you at times like this?

Take a look at my diary Monday and Tuesday. Monday was even worse than it looks because I gave up logging everything I had for dinner after seeing just how ridiculous it was getting.

What helps me is knowing that I'm human and I'm bound to make mistakes. Also knowing that screwing up doesn't prevent me from starting over. I get right back on track the next day (or next meal).

Edited to mention that I also do the math so that I have realistic expectation of what to expect the week a screw up. I'll assume that you have your goals set for 2 lbs a week which is a 1000 calorie deficit a day. I'll also assume that your maintenence calories are about 2000 a day. So you had two days in a row 1000 calories over maintenance + the two days you missed your deficit. So instead of a 7000 calorie deficit this week you will have a 3000 calorie deficit. So instead of 2 lbs this week you will lose .86 lbs. If you lost .86 lbs a week all year that would be 44.72 lbs. I would rather be down almost 45 lbs a year from now than give up and not lose anything.

Plumeria - I think it's safe to say that we ALL go through times like that. I was like that last week. It's like your so hungry and no matter what you eat it doesn't satisfy so you move on to something else. Try to realize what you're doing while you're doing it (and the damage it will cause) to help you stop yourself. Trust that you won't be happy at the moment but you'll be happy afterwards. And like svey said, getting back on track for the next day/meal is a great way to counteract that behavior. And don't be so hard on yourself!
