Please please add me any vegans out there! Need some tips on nutrition and lifestyle :) I want to feel like I'm not alone because my family keeps pressurizing me on the negative impacts of not eating meat, sending me numerous articles and keeps regarding veganism with contempt and disdain.

That's all for now :) Hope to make some new friends ~

Appreciate your enthusiasm but it's forum etiquette (and rules) to pick one forum area to start your thread in and not make multiples. All the best.

    Hi there
You can show your family "Forks over Knives" on Netflix, or even "How Not To Die" on YouTube.

I'm starting here today and I'm Whole Foods Plant Based

    Let's do this!

Best advice I can give you is don't feel like you have to justify yourself to your family and friends (I also wouldn't advise showing them the above documentaries because to be honest there is a lot of propaganda on both sides of the fence and it will more than likely just cause more animosity between you and your family).

Instead just focus on educating yourself on how to get sufficient protein and nutrients with a vegan diet. Plenty of helpful vegan folks and groups here. If you're fit and healthy whilst you're eating that way, there is nothing your family can argue with really.

Plenty of people have understood after watching the above documentaries and it changed their lives, and their health too! Many have reversed chronic health conditions.

Vegans can still eat vegan junk food though, so research "Whole Foods Plant Based". Dr McDougall, Dr Greger, Dr Furhman.

His whole book is based on misinformation and twisting data to suit his rhetoric.

There is nothing wrong with a vegan diet, but don't show your family this rubbish.

Make sure you are getting adequate protein, tofu, soya mince, chick peas, peas, temph are good sources.

Buy foods with added B12. I love nutritional yeast and plant based milks are often also fortified with them.

UCDavis has a 21 day Vegan challenge staring tomorrow with free grocery list and cookbook. I am doing it! Last year I did Dr. Barnard’s 21 day vegan challenge but fell into trap of buying a lot of vegan prepared food. This year I am going to learn to cook. There is something for everyone. You just need to do what works for you! Please reach out to me. We can support each other!

    Hi

With sincerity I ask, why do you believe Dr Greger's work is based on misinformation? Please quote sources?

    Cheers
