Approaching 50, disabled and medicated -- seeking similar friends

Next month I'll be 49. I became disabled in March and had to leave my job while my medical team worked to get me well, but the medications I will be taking for the rest of my life sent me from 167 to 211 lbs and I just cannot bear to see that number go up again.
Exercise is difficult for me and in some cases dangerous, but I do isometric things to keep my muscles from atrophy as much as possible.
My main reason for being here is, I have never, ever weighed this much and I have got to get it off me, and I appreciate friends who have suggestions having been there themselves, etc...
Happy Weekend, All!
