i did the following and will get back into it tomorrow, lost 5kg (67 to 62) in 4 weeks and I kept my normal workout of about 3-4 times a week

breakfast: coffee + smoothie if i had an intense workout in the morning/ cheese & ham roll
11: nut bar, yogurt with fruit + nuts, egg cup, avocado and bacon
1: chicken + veg / fish + veg/ quiche + veg (quiche only once a week)
3: another coffee/ handful nuts/ cheese and ham roll/ some fruit (apple/ orange)
7: chicken + veg/ steak + veg/ fish + veg
8: yogurt/ chocolate
9: dandelion/peppermint/fennel tea

One cheat meal a week. usually a huge bowl of pasta and some wine.

Curious what worked for other people looking to lose 5-10 kg.

So you had a calorie deficit. Great! Did you enjoy your food?

You eat that exact same food every single day? I need more variety but as long as it gets you a deficit then it will work.

looks like there is some variety built in. (Chicken or Fish or steak).

So six meals a day, lots of exercise, not too many 'empty calories' to ensure calorie deficit. Seems sensible.

I am more the three meals a day, plenty of variety kind of guy. Lately I am more into the cardio, but have always enjoyed lifting weights. I tend to go in cycles, pretty intense for a few months, pretty slack for others. I keep myself in a 'window' of about 15lbs and buckle down when I feel like its time. I have a hard time maintaining, and seem to be better at losing or gaining :)

It's very hard to describe my diet. I go through phases or eating roughly the same foods for a few days, then other foods for a few more, then a phase of wanting to try everything new, then I feel like maintaining, then I suddenly feel like pseudo-fasting. My diet has a mind of its own and I give it free rein. My only daily staples that never change are tomatoes and bread.

I like variety too and I want to keep eating the same way when I hit maintenance. So far the only thing I've given up is daily wine, too much high calorie snacking after dinner, sugar.

I ate foods I found tasty, satiating, and nutritious in reasonable portions to meet a sensible calorie goal, to lose 50+ pounds in just less than a year. I've done about the same to maintain a healthy weight for nearly two years since.

If what you're doing is working well for you, and ticking the boxes for good nutrition, you're doing it right, as long as you have enough remaining body fat to sustain that high a loss rate healthfully . . . which, at 67 or 62kg (147 or 136 pounds) I fear you don't. Your call, though.

You calorie deficit is working. And if you are satisfied with your food choices and feel good everyday, keep doing what you are doing.

p.s. For me 'Variety is the spice of life'. Its certainly true with my diet. I cannot imagine eating any bland or boring for the rest of my life... So to give you an idea, I ate tacos every Tuesday, still do in fact..
