Hi everyone. Five years ago, I joined MFP. I wanted to lose weight for vanity. I was very young. I ended up adopting extremely unhealthy habits. Severely low calorie diets mixed with hours of excessive exercise, crippling anxiety, depression, self-harm, and poor self-esteem left me miserable for a long time. Took me years to see how badly I was hurting myself. During recovery, I gained the weight back and distanced myself from the numbers that I was prone to getting obsessive over. I became overweight because I started binge-eating. I've tried many times to live a healthy lifestyle but have never really learned how to without going to an extreme. I have a love/hate relationship with food and exercise. This time around, I need to lose weight for health. I'm intimidated by the numbers and overwhelmed by where to start. I don't want to hurt myself again. I need to lose 30 pounds. My friends and family are not very supportive as they fear I'll go down the same path. I'm desperate for some support and I'd appreciate any you give. Thank you :-)
