They were called Fruit Slices. They were congealed, gelatinous, corn syrupy, gum droppy things shaped like citrus fruit slices and covered in granulated sugar. They were sweet and they tasted like fruits which corresponded to their colors: orange, red, green, white and pink.
They have now been popularly replaced by sour gummi worms, Skittles and Starburst and it's an OUTRAGE.
Fruit slices are the best! I haven't seen them in years.1 -

I was brought up eating a Snickers every Saturday from May - September and November - February. Chocolate, caramel & peanuts are not safe in my house. Sorry kids light is off, door is locked, I'm eating all the candy!1
