Our family spent about 4 hours today at an amusement park. To offset the small bite of funnel cake ;) how do I track the calories for this "event" in my exercise? Its certainly much more energy spent than most days at my desk job (and most of it done carrying around 30lbs of 3-year-old) Any ideas? I don't want to overestimate but hey - these days this is as close as I come to exercising on the weekends. :ohwell:

Ohh wouldn't have a clue lol how about tracking it like walking slow pace as you prob did a lot of it between all the rides :drinker:

Hope it was a fun day out

Whenever i spend the day walking around, I log it as "walking" and just estimate the mph. I'm a pretty quick walker so I usually go with 3 or 3.5 mph, but if you meandered a lot, I'd go with something like 2.5 mph

I have just had 2 recent trips to amusement parks and I think I put 1/2 the time I was there (say I was there for 10 hrs, I put 5hrs) of walking leisure pace....I figure at home I would be walking some tooo but not as much....that way the time you are eating and standing in line will not be counted....just a ruff idea,....hope this helps!!

We just spent all day at the zoo. I logged it as 2 hours of walking 2.0 mph. We were there for 4 hours but I figure we spent 2 hours walking and the rest standing watching the animals.

Thanks everyone! I liked the idea of halving my time and then counting that as slow/leisure walking. I didn't feel like I was "trying to get away" with something and I still felt like I was accounting for the lost cals!!
  • use a pedometer or something along those lines to track the extra steps
