Hey everybody. I just joined this site. As you can tell by the title, I am a southern California girl. I am tired of being afraid to dance, go swimming, and just go out and have a good time because of feeling awkward in my body and feeling unhappy with how I look. I've tried losing weight before, but this time is different because I want to become fit and healthy.
I am scared of two things: dancing alone, and dancing in public. I want to demolish this fear. I want to get down to 140 by October 1st, so I have about 25 lbs to lose.
I'm not sure about counting calories due to my history of having an eating disorder, but I want to workout and work up a sweat everyday. At the very least, I want to dance at home and move my body.

Here's some of my exercise history:
I used to be a big walker. I didn't have a car and I had a lot of free time, so I'd walk at least 60 minutes a day, practically every day.
Around April I started running. Started with 10 consecutive minutes and since recently working my way up to running a 3k( 2 miles), I've plateaued and I don't even want to run anymore. Deep down, I've always wanted to dance.
I constantly feel awkward and unright in my skin. I want to be confident and stop shrinking myself.

Here's my stats:
19 years old
5 foot 9
165 lbs

goal: get down to 140 by Oct 1
