    This is Soot, the cat who came in from the cold. He was living on the streets for at least four years, but I suspect he had a home at some point. Last year, he started coming inside. Three months ago, he moved in permanently.

    And when we took him to the vet and learned he was FIV-positive, we were advised that he needs to stay indoors from now on. Which will be interesting when the weather warms up. For now, though, he seems to be adjusting well, sucking up to my husband, and slowly getting used to the idea that strangers (i.e. company) aren't here to eat him.

    Most of the time? He just lazes around and enjoys life:
