About 4 weeks ago I was weighing 410lbs, I am currently @ 383.4 this morning. I have felt were I am eating less, due the changes the system has made for me. I was one of the people with blinders on, not wanting to know or ignoring how bad the food I was eating was. I have decided to go the route of MFP rather than bi-pass surgery. As the weight is coming off, it is getting easier to walk and do other activities. Any suggestions on how to not stiffin up so bad after I have been sitting, or is it just old age?

I'm glad to hear MFP is working for you. It really opened my eyes when I start too. Good luck and remember it is a life style change.0

Good for you for taking this route, although there is no shame in doing the bypass. Anyway you can get healthy is the way to go. The stiffness will subside a bit when the weight starts falling off but age is not on any of our sides so keep moving and stay loose. Congrats and do some great things.0

First of all, congratulations to you for joining MFP and looking to improve your health and life. You conquered smoking a few years ago and that's not easy...so, no doubt, you can take on this challenge. Being around for your family is so important.
The more you move and lose, the less stiffness you'll experience. A sedentary friend decided that he would get up and move around at certain times...first, every 30 minutes, then 20, etc. He also figured out that, when watching tv, the ads were so often that it was his cue to get up and move a bit. Personally, after dropping weight and getting more active, I am feeling more "agile" at 63 than I was in my 50's...so age is a factor but not a deterent.
Good luck to you and it's wonderful that your wife is there to support you along the way. After all, she'll benefit as well with a healthier spouse!0
