I’ve just started this and wondered what success people have had doing it?

Personally after 2 days I feel great, and with MyFitnessPal it’s loads easier.

Any thoughts?

If it works for you, that's awesome. I also enjoy IF. I usually skip breakfast and have a light lunch so I can have more calories at dinner time.

Just remember that regardless of WHEN you eat, it still all boils down to the calories. All you have to do is eat at a calorie deficit to lose weight. :)

I puesue IF as a meal scheduling approach. It works well enough for me, since i'm usually only hungry at night. However, I don't think it's a magic bullet, or really does all that much other than let me concentrate calories during the periods of the day when i'm actually hungry.

The success IF has brought me, is the feeling of freedom and flexibility and confidence. Realizing that I don't have to eat small meals through the day to avoid blood sugar crashes, headache, irritability and uncontrollable binges and to "boost my metabolism" and "rev up my energy", but that I can eat whenever it suits me and my schedule, is absolutely fantastic, it has improved my quality of life, and my relationship with food, which was already improving. One more factoid gotten rid of, on to the next (which one?? I don't know, because they're so ingrained that they feel like facts :s ).

I do 8/16 IF. It's awesome too. Sometimes it's hard to make sure I have breakfast as soon as I get up AND have that snack right before bed, but I make it work.

It's good in that the meals are closely spaced and that you don't go to bed hungry (12 Noon to 8PM eating window).

I started doing it for the supposedly beneficial effects on insulin resistance but whether that is actually true or not I don't know.

I've successfully achieved my goals doing it - those goals being losing, maintaining and purposefully gaining (at different times, obviously).

IF is simply a meal timing schedule, the calories you intake during your eating period will determine the outcome.

It’s definitely easier eating whenever in the 8 hours. And not doing either little and often or timed meals.......sometimes life gets in the way
