I didnt change any settings or anything only my weight changed0

The less you weigh, the less you need to eat to maintain your weight . . . but congratulations!0
-
I still have like 100 lbs to go before I am even near my close weight
I think I am going to change my calories back because it was working just fine at 13700 -
The reason for it would be becase since your weight changed you need less calories to maintain the weight that you are currently at. Therefore you need to each less calories than that everyday to keep losing if all you are doing is cutting calories.
It is a bit disheartening though. I tend to get lazy about logging once I know what I can eat for the calorie level I'm at and then when my calorie goal drops I have to get fanatical about it again.0 -
I just changed mine back to 1370 manually because I am losing weight at 1370 so I am not going to change it when I am losing weight if I start getting stuck then I will reset it and do what it suggests but I am having hard enough time with 1370 let alone trying to take away 140 calories - Scared if I take away them 140 calories which are my munch calories that I will go crazy and eat everything in my vision - Usually my last 100 calories or so are my grab a pretzel stick here or there calories which deters me from wanting to eat the whole container of pretzel sticks - As I read somewhere if you get the munchies instead of ignoring it eat say a chip or two then walk away and within 15 minutes the craving usually goes away and that has been working for me0

Do what works for you. I'm almost always in the red on my calorie counter, yet I've been maintaining for years. (That probably means I'm making a mistake somewhere, but as long as it's the same mistake all the time and it's working, that's fine.)0

1370 is already quite low. I'd stick with it.0

Yes although I love my new body and new weight, I am more than a little disappointed that I have to work out more and harder in order to keep eating like I do!0

I'm guessing you have your loss set at 2lbs per week. When I started I set mine to that and it would only give me 1200 cal. No way was that going to work long term for me. I changed to 1lb per week, and I can eat 1600 (14 lbs ago I was allowed almost 1700) and I'm losing weight. I believe slow and steady wins the race. I reset my calories every 5lbs. Every time in the past when I've tried losing 2lbs per week...it worked, but then I went right back to where I was plus more. Also if you want to eat more, then make sure you exercise, and you get more calories you can eat...my favorite part about MFP :laugh:0 -

I agree with the above. You must have it set for 2 lbs a week and the suggestion to set it at 1 lb a week is worth doing or considering. I've lost 100 in less than a year eating at a 1lb a week goal and then I would exercise off 1 lb. most times I got more than 2lbs a week but the bottom line is, I got to eat more. I was eating about 1400+ . Now that I just have 30 lbs to goal I've changed it to half a pound a week, sedentry, and then I burn about 3600 cals a week to stay at 1 lb a week. The last part is new this week so will see how it goes but I enjoy my food and some numbers are just too aggressive and unsustainable.
But well done to you!0 -
I know what you mean about changing what's working. When asked if I wanted to change my numbers...no thank you! Now I'm on maintenance, I thought I'd see what my new number should be...and it upped me 400 calories! Yikes...talk about scary! So I decided to up mine by 100 and see what happens first. I'm glad you decided to go with what was comfortable for you...staying where you're at!0

It's been asking me that for 70 lbs and I always say no- I'm eating the same calories I was eating when I started and my weight loss hasn't slowed. I started at 1460 per day, and I can't imagine what it would be trying to tell me to live off of if I'd said yes every time. If what you're doing is working, don't try to fix it!0

If you still have 100 pounds to lose, you probably need to eat more than 1370.0 -
Good for you for sticking with what works for you. Plenty of people on here do custom goals, myself included.
I do agree with those that say a change in weekly weight loss goal might've made the difference too. If you're at 2 pounds, 1.5 pounds per week might be better Or if you're already at 1.5 pounds, 1 pound per week might be better. The closer you get to goal, the lower your weekly weight loss goal should be. The program is only as good as the info you input into it.0 -
I really like MFP for the food diary/calorie calculator. In just about every other respect I think it falls short. Do what works for you.0

When I started I had about 80lbs at most to lose, I set my activity level to sedentary, goal 1lbs/wk and I don't log exercise or activities... I found the calorie amount was not attainable for me so I changed my goal to 0.5lbs/wk. That was much better and I was losing 7lbs/month when I stuck to my limits (mostly). I would defenitly not lower your daily calories considering how much you have to lose still.0

I've never changed my calorie setting when they make that offer - I figure if I'm losing at a calorie level that keeps me from being hungry there is no need to mess with that!0
-
I don't want to set it to 1 lb loss per week - I want 2 lbs loss per week
Right now 1370 calories is plenty for me during the day I don't need more then this
And I do exercise please don't think I don't I definantly did not get this far sitting on my butt LOL When I exercise I eat back about 1/2 of my calories since its not an exact science based on the what MFP gives you for working out I just eat back 1/2
I just think its crazy that they tried to drop me that many calories over just 10 lbs lost - I might would have accecpted if they said ok you only need 1325 or something like that
Like I said for now 1370 is working for me so until I see its not working for me I will just keep it like this0
