Early success

Today is the eighteenth day I have logged in to MFP. On every day except my birthday I have been below my calorie count. I don't need to lose loads of weight but I'm 6'4"tall. I hide my weight well.

Part of my choice is to avoid the scale altogether. I want to create a healthier lifestyle for myself rather than just chasing numbers. Each day I take three pictures and then keep an eye on progress using them.

Early progress for me means just getting started. Logging food each day, moving more when I can and trying to choose healthy foods that still fit into a busy lifestyle are all good indicators of change for me.

What are your early indicators of change?

What do you think? Any progress?

You are definitely tightening up and have clearly slimmed down in the face. Great job! Keep it up.

    Thanks!

Other than the scale, how do you measure our see change?

My belt is a little looser...

Flexible dressmaker/tailor/cloth measuring tape. This site does have a screen for inputting the standard tape measurement areas of the body for tracking change over time. You can also customize it by tracking additional body sites (e.g., upper arm/lower arm/wrist, upper leg/lower leg/ankle, upper vs. lower waist, upper/lower rib cage, head, etceteras, etceteras).

Many people who do not weigh, tape.
