Fitbit workouts vs. steps: To log or not to log??

Ok, I know this has GOT to be a common question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
I take group boxing classes about 3x per week, which greatly increases my step count for the day (lots of bouncing). My Fitbit is telling me I'm burning 500+ calories a session. After I sync, no workout appears on MFP, but my higher step count gives me a big calorie adjustment.
My question is, do I still need to ADD my workout to MFP? The way it's recorded makes it look like it's accounting for the steps ONLY. So frustrating/confusing.
Example - today I burned 553 calories, and afterwards my calorie adjustment was +520. If it was recording my workout and not just the steps, wouldn't it have added 553 instead? Or is it like that because I have a sedentary job and was sitting all day beforehand..?
Also, I love my Fitbit but I miss the pre-Fitbit days where when you recorded a workout it actually shared it on your feed!
Anyway, thanks in advance for your insights!

You don't need to add workouts here because the thingies already got them. (You don't want to count those calories twice!)
You're wise to make sure all the numbers tie up properly. But the adjustments can be a little mysterious and throw things off a little, like you noticed.0 -
Your adjustment comes from the total calorie burn up to your most recent sync. MFP can’t tell whether those calories were burned through exercise, general activity, or your BMR.
Let Fitbit do its thing. If you log it on MFP it will mess with the adjustment. You can make a post on your wall saying you burned 500 calories boxing.1 -
Ok thank you both!0

My understanding is different. It has always been that you can log the workout using the actual time to get the extra workout cals. The syncing process will factor out the step cals so it's not double counted. That's one point of syncing.1
