Starting over streak

Hi guys I’m not sure why my streak keeps on counting days when I failed and haven’t logged my food for over a week. I feel like the streak really helps motivate me but now that I lost my way for a while it doesn’t accurately represent things now. Is there any way to reset the streak?

There's a link on this page to reset it - you simply type in the number you want and click "submit".
I reset mine quite often.
ETA I usually just google "my fitness pal counter reset" each time I need to find it lol1 -
Your streak has nothing to do with your food diary. It’s based on you logging into the website or the app. I don’t even pay attention to what mine says.6

Right, or you can just use the reset tool and use the login streak however you'd like. (in this case, to track actual consecutive logging)
I like to reset mine if I have a few "off" days where I might start logging and give up mid day, or I've checked my feed/the forums but not logged. Some people like the streak for keeping them accountable to when they've logged successfully. Sounds like this is what the OP also wants to use it for.3 -

Oh nice - I missed that comment above. I thought you could only have it fixed when you wanted to keep a streak (even when not deserving - but that's a whole other issue) - didn't realize you could reset it to anything. Makes things easier!0 -
Even if you don't log in to the app but maybe it's open on your phone and you are near wifi it accesses the site and counts toward your streak.1
