I see a few topics on here of a similar thought pattern. Just wondering; when does your brain catch up with your body?

I KNOW I've lost weight. My clothes are too big. Clothes that I would previously struggle to do up.

I still feel like the fat girl.

The other day I said something to my partner and the look on her face was so serious and she was like, "You really do not need to lose any more weight, you're skinny now."

Does anyone else struggle with this? I still feel self-conscious. I'm working on my BF% now more than losing weight, so I can be less squidgy round the edges, but I don't know when I'll start to fit into my skin and be comfortable?

You're not alone. When I lost weight, I was like yeiii I'm tiny. But the feeling fades and I start to feel bigger again. :| it's annoying, I know I'm not big.... but I feel big >.>

Don't worry, lots of people on here have expressed feeling this way, including myself.

There was a great thread earlier that linked to a website where you guess what body is most similar to you, and then enter your measurements to see where you really are. It was pretty nifty, and most people overestimate.

It comes and goes. Sometimes I feel thin and sexy and other days I feel like a beached whale. I'll say that I'm feeling fat and people look at me like I'm insane, even when I still have 23 pounds to go. So yeah, you're not alone. :flowerforyou:

I have the same feeling, my friends and family all say, "You're getting too big you should stop lifting" but every time I look in the mirror I see the same skinny guy that I used to be, I get self conscious whenever I have to cut weight.

amazing link. I overestimated by 40%! in disbelief I asked hubby to choose how he sees me and he choose the right one. I'm still amazed by how wrong I was. I have always known that the way I see myself is different to what everyone else sees but didn't realise how different.
