I find every day I am going way over on my allotted protein. According to MFP, my goal is 50 grams protein per day. That is the equivalent of 1 chicken breast. Really? Am I REALLY only supposed to be having that much protein or are the numbers off? I'm on the Paleo diet which has been working wonders for me, but I'm a little anxious about this??? any help is appreciated.:flowerforyou:

I think I have read that those numbers are "minimums" to hit each day. Of course, if you are on a diet that suggests a higher protein intake per day - then you would be far exceeding it. You can adjust those numbers manually if you know the ratio you are trying to follow or you can just ignore it.

I don't pay too much attention to those things - I like to see that I got a good amount of fruits and veggies, wasn't eating all carbs (even though I would like to) and that I was kind of balanced in my intake. Otherwise, I don't fret.

Most people find the protein level to be too low. It's okay to go over on it because protein helps you stay fuller for longer. I'm not a low-carb person, but I still think that the default level for carbs on MFP is too high, so as long as you're not sacrificing too much fat, having a higher protein diet is just fine.

Just change the macros in MFP. As mentioned, most people think 50g's is too low.
