seriously?
you don't get that there is a range because some people have bigger large bones aka femur than others...
my range is 118-158....doesn't mean I should weigh 120...
and again BMI is not a measure of health it is a measure of healthy weight...for most.
Yes I do get that. I was just pointing out, in my own way, how this range can be of little informative value if you're not average. Even the high end of my range seems like an agressive goal for me. 194 would not be anywhere close to overweight for me. I think it's important to understand the limitations of that model. P.S. A Femur is a particular bone not an a.k.a. for any large bone.2 -
I think it’s a good indicator for me personally as a 5’3 female, but every time I see the results for guys over 6 feet it seems totally off. Like outrageously off. And I don’t consider all 6 foot males to be outliers, that’s a lot of dudes.0

The range is a range BECAUSE of people that are not average. For you the higher end of the range is relevant, for others the lower end, for others the middle.3 -

I know. My point would mainly be that a better model would give you a healty range according to your own particulars. As there is nothing in the model that considers particulars you could be quite overweight and be comforted that you're technically in the BMI range. Or vice versa.

Better models means harder to determine. BMI is an objective measurement that you can calculate beyond any doubt. BF% on the other hand for example you have to be content with even the best available techniques for determining it being able to be 5% or so off.2 -
I agree. Merely meant to point out limitations.0
