6 years later, I'm back.

Well, I had been avoiding this post. I tried so hard to avoid it. But, it's time.
Six years after losing 35 lbs (going from 178 to 137 at my lowest, but most comfortable around 143), I'm here again with a new account.
I'm here again because I'm now less than 10lbs away from that previous high weight of 178. And I'm furious with myself. I promised myself I would never do that again. But I did. So, I'm going back to what worked the first time, in the hopes that I can replicate what I did before. That means going back to MyFitnessPal.
Quick stats about me.
Name: Katy
Age: 28
Height: 5'6"
Starting Weight: 169
Goal weight: 145
Weaknesses: Sweets, mindless snacking, wine
Activities: Running (2x per week), cardio boxing (2x per week), ice hockey (1x per week)
Feel free to join me on this journey. Last time I remember being super positive and excited to make new friends who worked hard to support each other. I promise I will try to be that person again this time, but I need to let go of my anger with myself first. And that starts with this post. If you've gotten this far, thank you for reading. It means a lot to me. Let's do this.

What did you do the last time around to take the weight off?
Why do you think you gained it back?
What's the rationale behind doing the same thing again?
Won't you just end up back here in another 5 years?
What will be different this time around?0 -

Last time I was really diligent about counting, ran a TON (culminating in my first marathon!), played ice hockey, then picked up cardio boxing to build lean muscle.
I gained it back frankly because I stopped caring, stopped paying attention to what I was eating and how much, and probably most importantly, stopped working out. I was in grad school for two years and though that's not an excuse, it was really stressful. And then once it ended, I sort of let myself just relax and do nothing as a reward, but doing nothing actually meant being really lazy and going out a lot with friends and not taking care of myself.
I'm doing it again because it worked. And because every time I've had success with losing weight, it's been through this app. It's been relearning good habits, reminding myself how much food I need vs how much I want. When I dabbled with a more private, brief return to this app earlier this year, I lost about 10lbs, then I got complacent again.
I'd like to think that when I lose the weight again, I'll have reinforced the habits well enough for them to stick even longer than 6 years. Plus those 6 years saw a lot of change in my life, including a cross country move, two new jobs, home buying, marriage, and graduate school. Everything has calmed down now and is relatively stable, so I'm hoping these habits that I form this time will be able to last longer because they are paired with a bit more stability and predictability.1 -
You can do it again! I am just getting back to this myself recently. I found that MFP has really been the main thing that really works as long as you make your health a focus and priority throughout whatever else may be going on in life. I wish you well on this journey!1

You've done this multiple time before so clearly you're quite good at losing weight, but no so great at maintaining your weight. Life's always going to be throwing change at you, that the nature of life itself.
Maybe this time around you can work a little on how to keep the weight off so there isn't a next time around. Know what I mean?
I'm not trying to give you a hard time, just encouraging you to think longer term on how you might get there and STAY there. Sounds like you're 90% of the way with your attitude, experience and general outlook. If you can get the other 10% I bet you'll be golden.
Best of luck!1 -

And yet life is never that predictable...
That is why this MUST BE A LIFETIME COMMITMENT!!!
We all fall over, slip up, have binges, plateaus and successes. By making this commitment-Every day, than there is no expiry date.0
