They think it's gross...

Been doing a lot of research and discovered cottage cheese is a protein powerhouse and I've been having trouble getting my protein in. But I hate cold cottage cheese. Even with fruit...however, I thought if I warmed it up in the microwave and added things to it, it'd taste like the inside of a calzone. Lo and behold, warm cottage cheese with garlic powder and cumin is yummmm! My roommate thinks I'm gross..
What do u eat that others might find gross?

I love cottage cheese, but never thought of warming it up. The hubster was judging me for drinking pickle juice the other day, so I guess that's one...6

I love canned mustard and turnip greens. Ill eat the whole can with some hot sauce, or marinara. One can has about 90 calories, 9 grams of protein, and 12 grams of fiber.
I also eat those toddler squeeze things. I love the Apple/fig/kale one, and the pumpkin ancient grains one. They have about 100 calories, don’t require utinsils, and I can carry a couple in my purse.7 -
Used to make a protein slop out of canned chicken (room temp) and cottage cheese (cold). Most people gagged just looking at it.0

I eat all kinds of things that others turn their nose up to. Tofu, lentils, beans, and eggplant (they say it's a texture thing) heck I'll throw all those into one dish. Yummy.
Canned chicken with cold cottage cheese makes me want to gag just thinking about it.7 -

Cooked beets are the yummest. I just picked up a nice bag today at the store. I just hate it when the pot boils over. Stains everything.3 -
Potato pudding. No one ever knows its made of potatoes when they try it and say its delicious, Then they suddenly think im a freak when they find out hah3

Add pepperoni and your life will never be the same! I also strain my cottage cheese to get rid of any excess liquid.5 -

Putting cottage cheese in a non stick pan and cooking it can make it stringy and melted-cheesy.11 -

Ate it nearly every day for lunch. Those were darker times.4 -

Those sound like dark times.0 -
I love most of my veggies al dente or raw, most of my friends and family don't want much of anything to crunch. I can't stomach the soggy broccoli, brussel sprouts, green beans . . . I will at times just to be polite - can't wait for Thanksgiving.1

Haggis. Seems to alarm much of the rest of the world but it's really not much different to sausages of old. And it's delicious. And other traditional British food. But haggis, even to the other bits of Britain, people find gross.
Baked beans cold out of the tin sometimes.
Pickled mussels.
Basically, I'll largely try anything within reason at least once.2 -
Tossed salad topped with scrambled egg whites and salsa6

I use cottage cheese in lasagna instead of ricotta, and it's AMAZING, so that doesn't seem weird to me.6

When I was growing up I was allergic to dairy so I drank Mocha Mix (a non-dairy coffee creamer) or potato milk instead. It was all I knew! And no, I was not even remotely overweight at the time, lol! I still say potato milk is incredible, though I don't know where it can be bought (my mom used to get it shipped to California from New Jersey), but now the thought of drinking Mocha Mix grosses even me out!0

Some people use it in lasagna. I like it cold with some Penzey’s sunny Paris on it and chips dipped in.0 -
Liver
Okra
Lima beans
Okra and lima beans together
Scrapple
I like cottage cheese on top of my pasta and marinara (like ricotta in lasagna, except I like the temperature contrast of cold cottage cheese on hot pasta and sauce.
Peanut butter and cheese sandwich
Peanut butter and bacon sandwich
I'm sure there are more.1 -
Eggs, jalapeños and jelly. Wrap it up in a pita with some spinach. Yum.2

The closest thing I can think of is Sushi on a regular basis. Not those silly rolls either but nigiri or sashimi. Favorite is Otoro or fatty tuna. It is buttery and the fat melts in my mouth with each yummy fishy bite.
Now I have eaten some weird things. I live in Japan and have had raw fugu, horse, and goat. I never had whale because it is never in the stores here. When I was in the Corps had cobra blood in Thailand and cooked cobra. I also ate many suspicious lumps of meat in the Philipines. Had bear, deer, pheasant, pronghorn, squirrels, and rabbits more than once growing up in the States.
Thing wife eats that chases me out of room in natto. A fermented soybean dish that just doesn't smell right to me.3 -

I live with an unadventurous teenage eater. She finds things like garlic, parmesan cheese, peas, or all fish gross.
I don't think I eat anything that would gross out the general public though.0 -
sweet pickled watermelon rind0

I will sometimes eat a bunch of pepperoncini peppers (from the jar) and let the juice get into my cottage cheese and then eat the cottage cheese. I love it, but it's something I do alone only, since I am pretty sure most people would find it odd.4
