Hi everyone. Just wondering if there are other people out there following a Mediterranean based eating plan. I'm switching to this per my Doctors recommendation and would like to find other friends that are eating similarly.

Here is a breakdown of what daily intake should be:

Low Fat Protein - 5 servings
Veggies - 4 servings
Oils/Fats - 4 servings
Root Veggies - 2 servings
Nuts/Seeds - 2 servings
Legumes - 2 servings
Fruit - 2 servings
Low Fat Diary - 2 servings
Whole Grain - 1 serving

If you eat similarly, I'd love to add you as a friend to help encourage and motivate.

My doctor mentioned it as an option ... I would love to know more about it, for sure.

I'm not a purist in anything but I do try to incorporate elements of the Mediterranean diet. It's supposed to be one of the healthiest diets in the world (that & Japanese). Kind of similar to paleo but with a little more give.

I eat fairly close to this way but without the numbers. I have for years. Both the (original) South Beach Diet and the Dash Weightloss Program are based on a mediterranean eating patterns.
