Cutting Questions

Hey guys, I read a lot of info on here but never have posted before. I currently started my first cutting cycle and things seem to be going well. I was at 215 2 months ago and now I’m at 198 and 15% body fat. I’m 6’2 and 20 years old. I use Leanmode and Trans4orm by EVL everyday.

Right now I’m eating 1500 calories per day (I know it’s on the low end even for cutting) but should I be breaking my calorie intake up evenly for every meal? My breakfast is usually a 110 cal protein shake I normally have some sort of turkey or chicken for lunch around 11 witch is about 400 calories. Then I have another protien shake around 3 and the rest of my 750 or so calories at night.

By eating so little during the day am I loosing muscle by not having a consistent calorie intake per meal?

Thanks for the help.

You need to eat more. Timing doesn't matter. You will lose muscle mass with that big of a deficit.

Sounds good. Thanks guys. I’ll probably bump it up by another couple hundred calories then.

You're going to lose some amount of muscle in a cut. The quicker you cut, the higher percentage of muscle is lost. But this doesn't mean it's a bad thing, unless your deficit is too high. If you cut gradually, you'll preserve more muscle, but the cost is time. If you cut quickly, you'll get leaner, but the cost is muscle. By maximizing protein intake and continuing strength training, you minimize muscle loss while doing it. You won't lose a ton of strength if you go relatively slow, but don't expect to be gaining strength while at the same time getting leaner. Or if you do gain (if you are still accruing "novice" gains), it will be slower.

It depends on your goals. If you want a beach body, you'll lose some muscle and strength while getting lean. Again, if you do it at a reasonable rate, probably not that big of a deal.
