What does “kitten” mean on the threads?

I hope this isn’t a silly question. I’m new to MFP and I see members write about “kitten” or “kitten vibes” and I just don’t know what that’s means. Can someone explain? Thanks!

It's MFP's swear filter at work. Instead of making naughty words say **** or whatever, they change them to *kitten*

It started off as an April Fools joke and stuck around. I totally get the confusion, because it looks like an 'in' joke that EVERYONE is in on haahaa

I shudder to think what would happen if they turned 'kitten' to 'kitty'?

Hah, and here I thought the posters were using the term 'kitten' themselves.

I do......but I always put <kitten> like that......so, if I were so inclined to say something like 'I don't give a <kitten>' then it would be clear what I was saying....without actually saying it.

I wonder if you get 'censored' too often does that create a kick this dude out situation?

    Some do.

I'm still a little taken aback when someone wants a kick in the *kitten*. I like kittens enough to not kick them.
