Keto or Low Calorie Diet? Can anyone tell me the best way to go? Or is it a combination of both?

Neither. To lose weight, you have to consistently eat fewer calories than you burn. But you shouldn't eat too few calories, because you have to eat fewer calories for a long time, too. You can eat anything you like. In fact, you should eat what you like, because you have to eat less consistently and for along time. If you feel good eating very low carb and high fat, keto will be a good choice for you.2

You lose weight through calorie deficit. Eat less calories than you burn. That is what makes you lose weight.
You can essentially eat however you want to create that deficit, as long as you meet nutritional goals.1 -
Thank you. When I tried to show my doctor all the good healthy foods I was eating, he said I was doing it wrong as I was eating too many carbs even though they were full of fibre and law fat. He said it doesn't matter if the calories are low because carbs convert to sugar and work differently in the body. Very confusing!0

Most doctors have very little knowledge about nutrition and weightloss. And - a warning - most of those who have, are out to scam you (weight loss clinics, pills, surgery). It's not that confusing when you ask yourself "who will make money out of this". Just eat less, and move more if you feel like it. Oh, and don't go low fat. Just eat less, period. You can eat whatever you want, but a balanced diet is good for you.2

Ketosis is the body using fat as a fuel source instead of glucose. Its cleaner and healthier. Carbs are the only thing that create fat. I am trying to stick with my Keto diet. Lost 28 pounds the first 2 months of doing it.1

Your advice lives up to "horrible" part of your username. Excess calories from any source turn to fat.2 -

In a condition of excess calories which macro would you think the body would have least difficulties storing as fat? The carbs, or the fat. In a condition of fewer calories that the body requires for that day, there will be not storage of fat from any source.0
