Hi my name is Tiffany I’m 24 and I’m 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby, a little boy. I’ve gained too much weight so far, 24 lbs... I’m just trying to eat healthier and not gain anymore excess weight. Any moms have any tips? Or feel free to add me if you’re in the same boat. Does anybody know how many calories I “should” be eating right now?

Eat as healthily as possible. Plenty of veg to keep you full. Don't go hungry, you're eating for another person!2

Ask your OB or midwife then set up on mfp for maintenance + however many calories he/she says you need per day to grow a baby. My memory is approx additional 300 cal for baby, but that was a long time ago. Most important thing is healthy bub, healthy mom. Congratulations!3

I am pregnant as well with my third.had back to back pregnancies.so I know how you feel you can't control the weight gain.it's inevitable bit you can maibrain it by eating right and small portions throughout the day.I've noticed that has helped me quite a bit.I gained almost 40 lbs with my daughter and so far I've gained almost 13 lbs with this one and I'm due in jan.just try and maintain.its okay to gain just try and keep it under control.Goodluck to you .1

Noooo! You're not!!!
You don't need any more calories than a non-pregnant woman except for in the third trimester... and even then the additional calories needed amount to about 250 per day.
I've set mfp to "keep current weight" and I'm basically looking to not exceed that calorie amount each day, while eating whatever I feel like. That is already a massive amount of calories, about 2300 for me, mfp will tell you yours in relation to your current weight. With that amount it's impossible to go hungry.
And of course: It's always a good idea to eat as healthy as possible but tbh, as a pregnant woman you can cut yourself some slack and eat that piece of chocolate. Just fit it into your daily calorie goal.
I'm currently 29 weeks and have gained about 1 kg per month which is absolutely fine. They say you'll shed the weight rapidly once you're breastfeeding anyway

Best advice I can give is please don’t diet. Eat when your hungry but choose healthy options. Try and keep empty carbs to a minimum ( sweets and bakery items processed snacks like chips) instead fill your needs with lots of veggies and fruit and lean meat like chicken and eggs.1

I am 25 weeks and gained about 15. I am up to the weight I was last Christmas when I wasn't pregnant. So I feel that's good. I am back on here for a few days to track just to see how I am doing and to keep myself accountable. I went a little overboard with the Halloween candy and just eating that extra cookie from lunch. I am going to cut those things out and trade it for grapes and apples with peanut butter. Message me if you want to keep in contact though our journey together!0

I did pregnancy weird - gained 30 pounds in the first 6 months, held steady for about another month, then started losing weight. My stomach was crowded; it didn't take much to fill me up. So I would say make the healthiest choices that you can, avoid empty calories, and relax. Your body knows what to do even if your brain doesn't.0

When I was pregnant the first time, I gained 19kg (42lb). Had 9lb baby, lost weight in 3 months. Second time, gained 21kg (46lb). had >10lb baby (22.5" long and all skin and bones by the way, so NOT gestational diabetes, just HUGE child). Lost weight in 6 months. Both times I did not try to lose weight, but was only breast feeding. Good thing I gained so much weight while pregnant huh?0

When I was pregnant I just ate. I started off with good intentions but soon just threw them out. I gained 45 lbs with my son and 50 lbs with my twin girls. I had no problem losing the weight either time. I never attempted to count calories while I was pregnant. I was hungry all the time and my dr never had a concern with my gaining. Everything you have a question about....don’t ask us....ask your dr.0
