I am a female at the weight of 143 and I am 5 feet and 3.5 in tall. I have an hourglass shape and carry most of my weight in my lower belly. I have a waist of 32in and want to get down to my goal of 25in. (7in loss). I was wondering if dropping 20lbs woukd get me to that goal or if Id have to lose more weight to get down to 25in, if so how much more?

You would just have to wait and see, you cant estimate with any accuracy.1

Fat comes off where it wants to. There is no way to know if 20lbs would come off more so in that spot or from all over1

Merciful ath, if anyone could predict that with anything even approaching accuracy, they'd insanely rich.0

Only one way to find out, keep eating at a deficit and let us know when you hit 20lb loss.1

Pretty much as everyone else said. Keep a proper calorie deficit with some good nutrition behind it and couple it with some sort of activity.
It's impossible to spot reduce. Just depends on where your body wants to lose first.
Have some patience and you'll get there!0 -
In general, it's impossible to predict where your body will lose from. That said, a 20 lb loss will put you at bmi 21.5 (123.5 lbs). If you carry most weight in your belly, I don't think you'll get 7 inches off from 20 lbs. Honestly, I don't know that you'll ever get a 25 inch waist. That is SMALL.
Here is a thread of women sharing similar proportions. There are SOME 5'3 women with 25 inch waists. Some aren't. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/comment/40639348#Comment_40639348
Stats of some of the people:- 5'3" 120-121 lbs Waist 26.5"
- 5'3" 116 lbs Waist: 25" Hips: 35-36"
- 5'3.5" 119 lbs Waist- 27"
- 5'3" 108 lbs 25" waist 31" hips

Although I agree with others that it's impossible to truly know, you can look at others and see if it's even possible. Short answer: It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that at 5'3.5 and 123 lbs (losing 20) that you will have a 25 inch waist.
Source: doing a search on the forum. Similar women (5'3) who have a 25 inch waist are generally in the 108-119 lb range. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/914952/petite-women-410-53-whats-your-hip-and-waist-size/
Additionally, there are MANY women in the 108-119 lb range who have 27 inch waists. That means they would have to be underweight (or recomp) in order to get smaller waists, that it's not a realistic goal.0
