What are some ways you add protein into your diet, especially breakfast or on the go, that aren’t eggs or protein shakes (or other dairy based protein like cheese, it gives me acne if I have too much).

I get most of my protein from beans, tofu, tempeh, and seitan.

I don't limit my breakfast to breakfast foods -- I'll eat just about anything for breakfast.

I don't add protein into my diet, the protein in all the foods I eat through the day, adds up: meat, fish, eggs, grains, dairy, beans, vegetables, nuts and seeds. I would say dinner accounts for the bulk of my protein intake, on average.

Beef, pork, poultry, seafood, tofu, beans?

I like Kashi Go Lean cereal (original flavor).....it's packed with soy protein.

Thanks for this post! I was just thinking that! My trainer cut my carbs, increased my protein. I am a vegetarian. He also said something at one point about soy/tofu & chemicals etc. But I feel if I'm eating the veggies & stuff, that's carbs, too.

I gotta find some good quinoa recipes I suppose.

Anyway, thanks for posting & suggestions /tips! I'll look for more vegetarian threads, too.

Anything in the legume group (peas beans lentils chickpeas), nuts and nut butters, other soy products mentioned above, non-dairy milks, seeds, quinoa - Peruvian sandwich shop near me makes a great quinoa burger. Here's the description:

A veggie burger that is a mix of quinoa, nori (toasted seaweed), fresh tomatoes & lettuce with a slice of cheese. Served on a Ciabatta roll & topped with our red cabbage slaw in a Chinese style.

It's also good as an alternative to rice and other grains as a side.

Cottage cheese and greek yogurt are great ways. I have problems with too much dairy causing acne too, but these two things don't have an affect on me!
