Im in week 3 of keto and already down 12 lbs but i want a treat once in a while and atkins advertizes low sugar and carb so i tried one of their shakes. I dont plan on having any regular servings of atkins but is it okay to have one of their "sweet treats" once in a while? Ive read online forums saying that Quest bars are a much better alternative so ill have to try that but i still have the rest of the box of atkins to get rid of.

Check the GI of different artificial sweeteners. A lot of sugar-free products use maltitol, which is one of the highest GI sweeteners, not much better than sugar in keto terms.

My favourite non-sugar sweeteners are stevia and erythritol.

Keto is all about counting carbs, isn't it? I would stay away from the Atkins bars. Although they are low in sugar, they are not particularly low in carbohydrates. The Atkins shakes, I believe are around 4 grams of carbohydrate per can. You would do well to just read the nutrition labels and go by that.

Ironically, even though Atkins is Keto, the Atkins branded snacks aren't.

It's okay if they fit in your macros and calories. Looks like (from checking online) they have 4 g carbs, 1 g fiber, so that should fit okay. I'd use this 3 g net carb number vs. the 1 net carb thing they advertise, as I would be skeptical of that.

You should check the nutrition information for anything you eat and see if it fits in your day (I am assuming you are logging) in order to answer these kinds of questions.
