Dieting with no results

Is anyone else having a hard time losing weight? I have been dieting for around 3 months and I have only lost 5 to 7 pounds. The scales go up and down. I have kept count of my calories, walking and added some exercise. I can not understand why I am not losing. If you have any ideas or helpful hints please share them with me.

You're averaging about half a pound a week. That's an acceptable rate of loss.
What are your stats? How are you measuring your calorie intake?6 -
Bad calorie counting and/or you targeting 1/2 pound a week on the site.
If you want faster, you need more of a calorie deficit, or you need to exercise a lot more. Simple as that.0 -
Most of the time, it's a combo of inaccurate logging and unrealistic expectations, which is perfectly normal and easily fixable!
1. If you have 15 or less lbs to lose, half a lb per week is actually great.
2. Double check the entries you are using in the database are correct. Many are user entered and flat out wrong.
3. If you aren't using a food scale, start. If you're only using it for some things, use it for as close to everything as possible - whole foods, packaged food, nut butter, fruit, bread, everything.
4. Do a gut check to ensure you are logging consistently and honestly.
5. Do you do a cheat meal or day that you don't log? Try logging it for awhile.
Hang in there and good luck :drinker:1 -
I’ve lost 40lbs in 10months without trying. I struggle to gain/maintain my weight, but enough about me! Luv to help people. What is your standard diet? A few tips I could give are to
1. Drink a lot of water
2. Cut out bread
3. Cut out refined sugars entirely!
4. Eat a lot of lean proteins
5. Time restricted eating
6. Don’t try to do it all at once, pace yourself.
Refined sugar is huge! That and bread! Look at the ingredient label. If it says the word sugar on it, it is added sugar that isn’t naturally in the food. Like milk? Doesn’t say sugar on the label yet it has a good amount of it (in the form of lactose) avoid at all costs but for starters try to keep it under 25g a day. Make sure to balance your macros as well. I like to tell people that eating right is half the battle, but daily physical activity will completely skyrocket the process! Take It one day at a time, build momentum and eventually the whole process will come as easy as breathingand the weight will be falling off with ease! Hope this helped!18 -

I lost weight eating bread, pasta, dairy, and paying no attention to how much sugar I was eating. If all those rules cause you to lose weight, it's because it put you in a calorie deficit. But other people, like me, get into a deficit without any of those rules (except pacing yourself!).17
