Has anyone got any advice for acl recovery I’ve been out for 7 months with the last two on physio after having an op. I’m really starting to struggle with seeing the end of this injury. Anyone else in the same place?

Sure am... full rupture here and broken tibia :( august 20th... was in full brace for 6 weeks to heal the bone. Knee partially healed dead straight. Surgeon wont touch me until i have at the least a 90 degree bend with minimal stiffness. It has been hell and my surgery has now been pushed from january to march or april. Brutal... hang in there! I find the mental end of this to be very challenging. I was very active before this... I gained 25 pounds. I have lost 9 so far. Definatly a very slow marathon not a sprint.

are you doing the rehab PT like you are supposed to, just focus on that for now. I got a little stir crazy for a while after surgery, but knew i was looking at at least a year of rehab. I was on crutches for 8 weeks after the op. I spent a lot of time in the gym working on upper body , at 8 months i was released to start running but ended up not running. At a year i was released lift again, squats, dl etc. And it was another year or more before i was back to my pre surgery strength. Its a long slow humbling process. It is what it is.

I've had two knee surgeries one year apart - it sucks for sure! I've been focusing on what I can do and not on what I can't - so upperbody-wise I'm a beast and even lowerbody-wise I'm doing what I can do. It is frustrating for sure though!
