So I wanted to join the 21st century and purchased the Polar FT7 heart monitor. It really helps me when I know my heart rate and since I'm a visual person, I benefit from tracking and storing my diet/fitness info. I bought the monitor to be able to link it to MFP -> Runkeeper (or similar fitness app). Well, as you're probably aware of, I'm not able to do that, since the FT7 comes with H1 heart rate sensor and that apparently doesn't have Bluetooth. I have an older smartphone, LG Optimus. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can I do (buy) to make this work the way I would like it to? THANKS so much for your help (and for reading this lengthy question!).

I would just use runkeeper or endomondo to track, and use the HR monitor for your own reference while you're running. If they're both calibrated correctly, the calories should come out similar for the two. Any deviation between the two is most likely within your margin of error.0
