You'd be surprised to see that everything at the table isnt as bad as you think. Pick your selections by portions rather than filling up too much on the same thing. There is no good or bad carbs or good or bad fats.
Can we just be honest with ourselves here? You know why the holidays are such a wide spread panic mode for new dieters? Cause they have put themselves into the position of viewing foods with labels.
Stop labeling your food, its about as silly as teenagers and their stereotypes.7 -
This implies that the holidays are out to kill you? What happened to the concept of celebrations and appreciation of enough, and good food?
Never feel guilty for eating. Eating is a necessary pleasure.
If you eat like a normal person, occasional splurges won't make a difference in the long run. It's the constant, daily, overeating, over years, that makes people fat.
Foods aren't bad! Of course there's a difference in nutritional profiles, but no foods are off limits, and no foods are so great that we can eat them in unlimited amounts. Actually, thinking about "healthy eating" is what makes us make bad decisions, because we get so caught up and myopic that we first end up with a narrow selection of foods, and then, because we feel like, or really have been, missing out on taste, mouthfeel and enjoyment, and generally felt restricted, lose all inhibition and overeat everything. A relaxed attitude towards food and eating, is more predictive of eating well, over time, which is what's actually important.
We don't "deserve" to eat or eat well, and don't call people lazy! We need to eat enough, and we should find pleasure in eating. Exercise doesn't do that much for weight management anyway. It's good for general health and wellbeing, so forcing oneself to exercise takes away a lot of that effect.
The word "hack" is also terribly overused.1 -
I don't have my big boy pants on. I am wearing jeans that now fit but without much room for expansion. It's the first time I have worn them. I got them on clearance about a year ago when I was slightly larger than I am now thinking I would lose some weight and they would fit. I gained instead and they ended up at the "in your dreams" end of the closet. I forgot about them until this morning; I was looking for something else, came across them and tried them on. Booyah! Anyway, these are perfect for today. It would be uncomfortable to overdo it.1
