Sick calorie deficit

What do you do when you’re sick and can’t eat and don’t meet minimum calorie allowance? I don’t want to lose my diary streak of daily logging for two months but am too nauseous to eat enough. Thanks

Since you logged in to post this you won't lose your streak. You don't need to actually log food for the streak. If you're sick - concentrate on getting well. Don't worry about your calorie goal. Hope you feel better soon.3

Even if I'm sick I still eat something. Even if I'm just having two sips of soup or whatever. Try eating some crackers or something.0

Take care of yourself. The streak isn't even connected to your food diary, it's based on you logging into the site or app for the day.0

Thanks, looks like I'll crack 1000 anyway but good to know the streak is about logging in. I stay logged in on my laptop usually.0

Even if you can't eat much, try to get plenty of fluids. I hope you feel better soon.1 -
Try soup, gingerale, orange juice, etc. Lots of liquids so you don't dehydrate. I just dealt with a bout of norovirus. Gingerale was the only thing that tasted good. It took a few days afterwards to feel normal energy, but at least I wasn't badly dehydrated.0

I guess it depends on how you use MFP, but if you want an accurate record of your calorie intake, this seems self-defeating to me. And all "finishing" your entry for day does is post a notice to your news feed and give you a prediction of what your results would be if you ate and exercised the same amount for five weeks straight. Who does that? (And if this need to add miscellaneous calories is due to being sick, you surely don't expect to be sick for five weeks straight.)

But why? Pushing the complete button doesn't do anything and now you just have an innacurate diary so why log at all? I've never understood this.7 -
When I'm sick, all bets are pretty much off. I eat whatever I can actually get down and don't worry if I go over or under with calories.2

When your sick eat what and when you can. Log it and just like those who go over calories just move on to the next day. With being sick it is important to stay hydrated for sure and can you try getting some of those liquid type meal drinks. Kind of like Ensure or something like that, that will provide you some kind of nutrients and calories. Even if you sip on it during the day.0
