Hi,
So I am curious what kind of fats do you guys typically eat. Do you mix animal fats with plant fats or choose one over the other? What are some big ones you would say is your staple? Coconut oil? Avocado? Ghee? Nut oils/butters?
Also, would you say the Keto diet is a fad diet?

I think keto can be a fad diet. For those who pick keto as a short term diet to lose a few pounds it definitely is just a passing fad.
For others who choose keto for health reasons, or because they find they finally have control over their eating it is not a fad diet. I've been keto for over 2 years and I have no plans to stop it as a my core way of eating.
Plus, technically low carb and keto diets were the first published diet books. Banting back in the 1800's wrote on it. It is one of the longest running diets that happened to wane in popularity during the low fad diet craze of the last few decades.
The fats I eat tend to be from animals (dairy, meats and seafood) but I also use coconut oil for baking and avocado and olive oil for cooking. I also eat a lot of nuts and coconut.
I avoid vegetable oils like corn, soy, and canola.2 -
No matter what way I eat, I try to get my macros from a variety of foods to increase micronutrient intake.
When eating higher fat, I'd try to eat a bit of fatty fish/seafood, whole eggs, dairy, avo, use coconut oil and ghee, nut oil, nuts and nut butters and seeds etc everyday ...2 -

This is what I do as well, although, I don't do keto.0
